The Continental Sorrento – Wayfinding
Since 1875 The Continental has been a landmark of Sorrento, Victoria, combining historic charm with seaside elegance. Now transformed into a lifestyle precinct, it offers curated luxury experiences, from fine dining and boutique accommodation to wellness at Aurora Spa and world-class event spaces. The Continental blends heritage character with modern sophistication, inviting guests to enjoy a fusion of history and indulgence.
8th Wonder designed and delivered a wayfinding strategy to ensure seamless navigation throughout The Continental. Tailored signage for accommodation, dining, spa facilities, and event spaces complements the property’s refined aesthetic and integrates with its architectural heritage, enhancing its status as a premier destination.
The Continental Hotel will house several food and beverage areas including a public bar, restaurant, bistro and conservatory. After dining at one of the many options - guests/public can continue the night at the Speakeasy bar/club.
For larger events there is a function centre offering multiple spaces and a ballroom for charter.
Facilities available to the hotel guests include a wellness centre with hydrotherapy and multiple treatment zones, gym, retail and a rooftop bar/pool. The interior design pays homage to the historical relevance whilst adding a modern touch - Modern Nostalgia.
The wayfinding design harmoniously integrates with The Continental’s heritage architecture and contemporary design elements. By balancing functionality with elegance, our work enhances the precinct’s identity as a premier destination for relaxation, indulgence, and celebration.
