Weerong Arcade Entry Gates – Architectural Feature
Loftus Lane is a key feature of the Quay Quarter Sydney precinct, a transformative redevelopment of Circular Quay into a vibrant gateway to the city. The project includes five buildings that blend heritage restoration with contemporary architecture, creating a dynamic mix of public spaces, retail, offices, and residences. This ambitious project reimagines the precinct as a destination where Sydney’s rich history meets modern urban life.
A focal point of the public realm is the custom-fabricated entry gates that define the arcade entrance. These intricately designed gates serve both as functional elements and as striking architectural features. Crafted with precision, they combine robust materials with an elegant design, providing a welcoming threshold that enhances the overall aesthetic and anchors the transition into the arcade.
Our studio managed the full scope of design and implementation for the entry gates, ensuring they seamlessly integrated with the surrounding architecture. Starting with detailed design and prototyping, we worked through engineering and documentation to refine every aspect of the gates, balancing structural integrity with the intricate aesthetic requirements.
