Rod Laver Arena – Signage & Wayfinding

In 2016 Melbourne Olympic Parks Trust undertook a major redevelopment of Rod Laver Arena. The site underwent major changes by adding additional areas and updating the internal and external public realm. Our team assisted Lend Lease in the development and documentation of the wayfinding, identification signage, entry point digital activations and building signage. Each element was custom fabricated to suit the design aesthetics and implemented to suit a staged program across two years of construction.
The implementation of the large Rod Laver Area building signage to the façade needed to be designed and programmed into the construction early as façade steel work needed to be developed to support the signage prior to cladding and finishing of the façade. Complex access equipment was utilised to lift the signage into place as each of the forecourt areas had load and access limits which needed to be met.
